The Commendation for Gallantry is a distinguished award given to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel who have displayed extraordinary bravery in combat or under dangerous circumstances. The award recognizes individuals who have acted courageously to protect the lives of others, even when faced with significant personal risk.
Eligibility
The Commendation for Gallantry is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional bravery, resourcefulness, and determination while serving in combat operations or other hazardous situations. The award is also given to those who have acted bravely in non-combat situations, such as during natural disasters, hostage situations, or terrorist attacks.
Design
The award features a gold-plated insignia of the Federation Star set in the centre of a row of flames. The insignia is mounted on a plain orange ribbon. A miniature version is worn on the ribbon bar.
If you order your medal unmounted, the medal and ribbon will be supplied as separate components. Miniature medals will be supplied with 15cm of ribbon and full size medals will be supplied with 30cm of ribbon.
