Collectors Gold Edition
This limited edition cold cast bronze figurine remembers the unique bond between men of the Australian Light Horse and their trusted Australian bred Waler mounts. The Waler was specifically bred for Australia's harsh bush and proved a sturdy beast in battle in the Middle East deserts. The Australian Light Horse served mainly in the Mediterranean and Egyptian Expeditionary Forces, fighting the Ottoman Empire at Gallipoli and in Sinai, Palestine and Syria. Two units served on the Western Front. The light horse was not a conventional cavalry, rather they were mounted infantry who would dismount and fight on foot. Formed in sections of four riders, one man would take the section's horses to safety while the other men joined the fight.

Collectors Gold Edition
The uniform and equipment worn by this infantryman is representative of Australian servicemen during the conflict in Vietnam. The floppy design of his bush hat, or 'giggle hat', was intended to break up the outline of the head, helping to camouflage the wearer, as well as providing protection from the elements. He is armed with the iconic L1A1 Self Loading Rifle, which was the standard battle rifle of the Australian Army from 1960 to 1992. His equipment has been optimised for patrolling in the dense tropical forests of Vietnam. Several water canteens and ammunition pouches are attached to US M1956 Load-Carrying Equipment webbing and a cotton mesh sweat rag is worn around the neck. The Army issued combat shirt and trousers would have been a subdued shade of Jungle Green, often referred to 'jaygees'.
Figurine is approximately 30cm tall, including its base.

Collectors Gold Edition
The extreme climate of the Gallipoli peninsula brought about many hardships for the men of the Australian Imperial Force. They nonetheless adapted quickly to their new surroundings. The standard issue woollen service dress tunic of the AIF was among the first items to be stowed away, in favour of cooler flannel and cotton undershirts. The distinctive broad-brimmed slouch hat, on the other hand, was indispensable in protecting the Australian soldier from the scorching sun. This figurine represents a typical AIF infantryman at Gallipoli during the summer of 1915. He wears the 1908 pattern webbing that carried up to 150 rounds of .303 ammunition for his SMLE rifle.
Figurine is approximately 20cm tall.
