The seventh pattern – 1991
This 25mm-wide lapel pin is inspired by the seventh pattern Rising Sun badge, introduced in 1991 as a refined expression of the modern Australian Army’s identity.
This version featured the words “The Australian Army” on the scroll and marked a notable redesign through the removal of the Federation Star and heraldic wreath seen in earlier versions. The result was a cleaner, more streamlined badge that reflected a contemporary and professional Army image while retaining the unmistakable character of the Rising Sun.
Finely detailed in miniature form, this lapel pin offers a meaningful tribute to one of the Army’s most recognisable insignia. It is a distinctive collectable piece for serving members, veterans, collectors and anyone with an appreciation for Australian Army heritage and tradition.
